Last update: May 1, 2024
Below are the instructions for your Sorbelo machine. Follow these carefully and serve the best Sorbelo.
Watch the video of the cleaning process here.
Components
This is the cylinder of the Sorbelo machine with the following numbered parts:
- Suction gasket *
- Spiral
- Cylinder
- Rubber band
This concerns the dismantled tap with the following numbered parts:
5. O-ring *
6. Tap gasket *
* After cleaning, apply vaseline.
Installation
- Placement
Place the machine on a stable and flat surface. Ensure there is enough space around the machine for ventilation: leave at least 20 cm free on each side. - Power supply
Connect the machine to a suitable outlet that has 840W available.
Operating Instructions
- Filling
Mix Sorbelo as described in the instructions on the label. Fill the tank so that it is between the minimum and maximum allowable amounts as indicated on the tank. - Control Panel
On the right side of the machine, there is a panel with five switches. To start the machine in “freeze” mode, all five switches must be set to position 1.
Explanation of the switches from left to right:- First switch
- Main power switch
- I to turn on
- 0 to turn off
- Second switch
- Overal day/night switch
- I for day mode (allow freezing)
- II for night mode (keeps the product cool and moving)
- Third switch
- Regulate the light
- 0 to turn light off
- I to turn light on
- Last two switches
- Regulate the freezing/cooling process for each tank seperately.
- 0 to turn the tank off
- I to turn the tank on freezing mode
- II to turn the tank on cooling mode only
- First switch
- Refilling
The machine can be refilled at any time by adding more Sorbelo mix. It is handy to have a Sorbelo mix ready that you can add. Do this when the mix in the machine reaches the lower limit, or bit by bit, whatever is best for your business. - Night mode
Using the night mode is optional. Set the day/night switch to II. This will keep Sorbelo cool and moving but consume less energy than the freeze setting.
Attention!
- Never turn on the machine without product or with water only. The machine must always be filled with Sorbelo.
- Always ensure that the machine is filled above the minimum line with Sorbelo.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Everything written here can also be found in the cleaning video at the top of this page.
Perform a minor service every week and a major service every 8 weeks.
- Minor service
- Empty the machine
- If there still is a lot of fresh Sorbelo in the machine you can choose to store it temporarily.
- Put the machine on cooling mode to avoid freezing of the cylinder while emptying the machine.
- Empty the drip tray and place it back. This is to avoid the drip tray from overflowing when you remove the tank in the next step.
- Tip: To remove remnants of Sorbelo from the tank, it can be helpful to temporarily fill the tank with lukewarm water. Turn off the machine if you do so.
- Dismantle the machine
- Turn off the machine.
- Remove the tank: Click the tank upwards to release and pull towards you to remove. Excess water will now flow into the drip tray.
- Remove the spiral from the cylinder.
- Remove the rubber band from the back of the cylinder.
- Dismantle the tap. First pull the pin - this might require you to push hard, don’t worry! To release the handle you may need to push the tap gasket inwards first.
- Cleaning
- Wash all parts with (luke)warm (not hot!) water and a gentle soap.
- Wash the cylinder of the machine.
- Remove the drip tray and clean it.
- Vaseline maintenance
- Apply vaseline to the indicated elements in the pictures above.
- Assemble the machine
- To reassemble the machine, follow the steps in reverse order.
- Placing back the tank can be hard, wiggle a little, pull up the cylinder, and push.
- Tip: Make the end of the tank slightly moist, or apply some vaseline, to facilitate the placing of the tank over the rubber band.
- To reassemble the machine, follow the steps in reverse order.
- Empty the machine
- Major service:
- Follow the same steps as in the minor service.
- Check during minor service
- Check the rubber elements that need to be maintained with vaseline.
Contact us if any of these rubber elements show signs of wear.
- Check the rubber elements that need to be maintained with vaseline.
- Cleaning the condenser
- The condenser is located on the left side of the machine. Unscrew the 2 caps on the lower left side and remove the panel. To clean the grill of the condenser, you can remove the dust with a small brush and finally clean with a vacuum cleaner. After cleaning, place back the panel.
Attention!
- None of the components of the Sorbelo machine may be placed in the dishwasher.
- Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or abrasive products.
- Never wash the components of the Sorbelo machine with very hot water.
Troubleshooting
- Machine does not cool
Check- If the machine is properly connected to the power supply;
- If the ventilation openings are clear;
- If the condenser is not blocked.
- Machine makes unusual noise
Turn off the machine and check for stuck pieces or other obstructions. Note however that ‘ticking’ of the machine is normal, this is the termostate doing its job. - When in doubt, just call
